Focus Area 01

Global Disease Control & Prevention

Projects that tackle communicable diseases such as HIV and TB, vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue, and noncommunicable diseases such as diabetes and cancer on a global scale.

Examples include our Targeted Programmatic Support Project in the Philippines and the Dr. Joseph R. Masci Legacy Project, supporting HIV/AIDS care and treatment, infection control, and pandemic preparedness. In Ethiopia, our Primary Health Care Strengthening Project focused on training first-line health workers.

55+ twinning partnerships in 14 countries. Over 50,000 health workers trained in-service and 10,000+ pre-service graduates across sub-Saharan Africa.
